    YEAR: 1977

CONDITION: Excellent condition for an instrument of its age - minimal wear on finish, frets etc. Orignal electronics, hardware etc.

    CASE: Comes with OHSC.

COMMENTS: Fantastic instrument! A lot of Gibson basses can sound dark and dead, but this one is bright and lively with a huge punchy low-end. Plugging this into a good amp and hitting a low E is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

HISTORICAL INFO: The RD standard bass was launched with the active RD artist in 1977, and sold just over 900 instruments to 1979 when production ceased. The standard was the passive model and featured two newly designed Gibson series 3 humbuckers. The body was solid maple, with a three-piece laminated set maple neck. Fingerboards were either maple (for the Natural models) or Ebony (for the Black models).
